Discover winter hiking trails and high peaks in the Dolomites while ski touring
Guests from the Hotel Madonna can explore on their own diverse ski tours along the winter hiking trails. Many mountain huts are located along the well-groomed trails and invite you to linger. With the touring skis you can go the way up off the slopes, get to know Europe's largest plateau far away from the cable cars and the bustle, breathe fresh air and recharge your batteries in the sun and tranquility of the wintry landscape. Especially popular among local people is, for example, the tour from Kastelruth to Seis up to the Seiser Alm.
To plow through the powder snow off the beaten tracks and groomed slopes is the dream of every tour walker. This is of course possible as well by ski-touring in the Dolomites. However, for security reasons the tours should be made only when accompanied by mountain guides. And enough of them are available in the villages around the Seiser Alm, all of them with their secrets and favorite tracks. Pleasure in the snow is guaranteed.
Off the slopes: Experience ski touring in the Dolomites
Ski touring in the Dolomites is one of the very special pleasures of ski mountaineers. With the touring skies underneath your feet you experience the winter season on the Seiser Alm from a completely different side.
The Queen of the ski tours in the Dolomites: this is our ski tip
In the region Seiser Alm there is a tour that is known among the ski-tours in the Dolomites as the tour par excellence: the Plattkofel tour. With its powerful, steep slope the Plattkofel is one of the few peaks of the Dolomites, which can be conquered on skis. All the way up to over 2,900 meters, you go from Saltria, passing by the Tirler alpine inn to the Zallinger mountain hut, continue over the Fassa pass to the Plattkofel hut and then up to the summit slope. The steep slope is however not completely safe and requires very reliable snow conditions, the mountain guide or the avalanche warning service South Tyrol are available to guests for advice and assistance.
